Housing
Our long term aim is to provide housing to our families. We envisaged that this project would commence in approximately 3 to 4 years' time.
However, I recently returned from Jamaica in May 2023. I carried out a case study on a young lady who has a primary aged son. Everyday is a challenge and she is more fortunate than many in that she works very long hours hard selling snack products. Her situation was that she and her son were homeless, after being evicted from her home by her mother. She was 'ketching' on a friend's floor and her son, sleeping in an abandoned car. It is really painfully moving to see someone work so hard and have little hope in terms of providing a stable family home for herself and son.
