About Us
Unity is a Powerful Force
Here at Helping Hands Helping Lives we understand that the world’s resources are distributed unequally. However, we believe strongly in equality of opportunity and that resources are available they just require mindful thinking, organisation and redistribution. Within the Caribbean 40% of the unemployed are not eligible to claim state unemployment assistance. The 21-35 female age group represents the highest unemployment group in Jamaica.
We aim to provide welfare, education and business planning services and support to unemployed individuals with a business idea. For safeguarding purposes, referrals will be made in consultation with local social services, education services and local churches. This project will commence as a pilot in the parish of Portland, Jamaica.
‘Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth’, (Muhammad Ali) is the philosophy behind our social enterprise. Keeping the flow of giving and receiving lies at the heart of an elevated spiritual existence and improved life for all.

If we are in a position to help others, we should! No matter how big or how small, something is better than nothing and a little from many, paves the way for great social change.

In 2011, there were 594,825 Black Caribbean people in England and Wales, making up 1.1% of the total population. We are targeting just 5% of this figure to help reach our fundraising target of £30,000 by July 2024, which will allow us to launch the welfare, education and business planning and enterprise workshop programmes.
We don't want £10 from you, we want £1 from 30,000 people - please spread the word!

£1 from many goes a long way …
